Special Exhibition "Silent Museum Mugonkan - Messages left by Painters"

Located in Ueda City in Nagano Prefecture, \"The Mugonkan\" - \"The Silent Museum\" - is a memorial museum dedicated to the art students who died in the War (opened in 1997) and preserving their paintings. Mugonkan owner Seiichiro Kuboshima inherited the museum from a painter Gyōji Nomiyama. Paintings received from bereaved are now hanging in the museum, giving the building atmosphere similar to a church. This year (2020) will mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the war and we are going to show you paintings and sculptures that are not normally displayed, divided into five chapters - \"homesickness,\" \"family,\" \"ego,\" \"love,\" and \"dream.\".
