Special Exhibition "Wind Rustling - Kinji Kawabata, Masuki Komatsu and other related painters to Kobe-
During the exhibition, we would like to introduce you to the works of Kinji Kawabata, Masuki Komatsu, and other related to Kobe artists. Kinji Kawabata has left plenty of paintings, which he drew while traveling around Japan - mostly sceneries of nature or ports where he spent nights. His style of painting trees allows us to feel breeze rustling leaves in his art. On the other hand, Masuki Komatsu known also as Ijinkan's painter, focused mostly on urban sceneries. By looking at his art and drawn buildings, you can feel the cold air in the shadows of empty streets. How do you perceive the movement of the air that passes by? The feeling of the air touching the skin or bringing a smell... Even in the still at the first glance paintings, after taking a closer look you can feel the movement of leaves and breeze flowing between the buildings. Sense that feeling at our museum when looking at these paintings.
