The Hyogo Prefectural Art Museum celebrates the creations of artistic talents affiliated with the prefecture; housing a collection of 10,000 mostly modern works. Modern Japanese movies are given particular prominence, never more so than in a special memorial room dedicated to the duo of painters, Ryohei Koiso and Heizo Kanayama. Visitors can also enjoy regular special exhibitions that showcase the most topical domestic and international works. The museum was designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando and features a unique appearance facing the sea. Even its exterior can be enjoyed, with a range of sculptures set in the surroundings.
