Japanese-style house standing quietly beside Sumiyoshi river. Junichiro Tanizaki, a famous writer of great literature, lived with his wife, Matsuko and her sisters from Nov. 1936 to Nov. 1943 for seven years here. This house is known as a scene of his work \"The Makioka Sisters.\"In order to let visitors get to know more about literature of Tanizaki, books written by Jyunichiro Tanizaki and reference books are found at drawing room of 1st floor.
