Special Exhibition "Experience Movies with Kinetoscope"
After opening the Kobe port, the city has been influenced by diverse cultures from different countries. That was where the Japanese were able to experience many new things - for the first time in history Japan. Along with golf, western sweets and clothes, jazz and coffee, movies too were one of these things and Kobe is known as the birthplace of the film industry in Japan. Rokko Music Box Museum owns the restored kinetoscope, which was used during the first movie viewing in Japan in 1896. For the occasion of the \"Movie Day\" taking place 1st of December set by the Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan, as a part of the exhibition will feature a possibility of viewing the with the kinetoscope Kinetscopes do not exist at all in Japan we are not aware of any of them that would be working even now (according to the company's research). That is why it is a unique chance to experience the very beginning of the cinematography. Applications beforehand are required, up to 10 visitors per session.
